Why it exists

Public events — fires, crashes, emergencies in progress — are documented best by someone who is there while they are still unfolding. Most of the time, a creator arrives after the moment has passed, or finds out about it from someone else's footage.

12Watch is built to close that gap. It does the listening, so the creator can drive. It ranks what it hears, so they don't chase noise. And it protects what they record as they record it, so a dropped or damaged phone doesn't take the footage with it.

How it works

One sequence, six steps. Each one exists in the product today.

1. 01Listen12Watch continuously monitors live public-safety radio and detects speech as it is transmitted.
2. 02DetectEach transmission is machine-transcribed and checked for incident language worth attention. Those transcripts are internal working material — unverified, and never published as fact.
3. 03DecideRelated transmissions are clustered into incidents and given a tier, so the few that matter rise above the background.
4. 04NavigateDistance, a map and one-tap navigation turn an alert into a field decision: is it close enough, and which way.
5. 05RecordThe phone becomes the camera. Recording starts from the same app that raised the alert.
6. 06ProtectVideo is uploaded in segments while it is still being recorded, so the footage does not depend on the phone surviving the night.

What you see here

This site is the public side of 12Watch. It carries footage the operator has chosen to publish, with context the operator wrote, and — when the operator explicitly goes live — a public broadcast. The field app itself is private: its alerts, transcripts, locations and routes stay inside it.

Every published clip is an editorial decision. Nothing is published automatically, and uploading a recording never makes it public.

What 12Watch is not

• Not a public police scanner. Radio audio and machine transcripts are not published.
• Not a public incident map. Active incident locations are never shown here, and neither is the operator's location or route.
• Not a self-serve SaaS or a multi-tenant platform. There are no public accounts, no pricing and no signup.
• Not a marketplace or a social network. There are no comments, followers or listings.
• Not an authority. Machine-generated dispatch transcripts are unverified; 12Watch never presents them as fact.
